'It's like they never miss a pass': The Swans' Galbraith continues clash with Pep's side.

Ethan Galbraith breaks into a smile as he recalls the thrilling dying seconds of his team's epic comeback win against Nottingham Forest in the League Cup. The game ended with Galbraith temporarily wearing a spectator's eyewear following the pitch-side pile-on.

As the match entered added time, Galbraith struck the post with a powerful shot from outside the box, and his teammate quickly slammed home the loose ball before sprinting toward the crowd to mark the goal, with supporters congregating around the players.

Extraordinary Turnaround

The result completed an unbelievable comeback given the team had trailed 2-0 midway through the latter period. In the delirium, there was some unintended consequences. Galbraith explained, "There was a supporter sort of calling out and myself and Keysy [Josh Key] were wondering: 'What's he on about here?' Then we noticed the glasses. It was a bit of banter putting them on. We are on the pitch as players but we're individuals, too, so to have a joke with the fans is always good."

Manchester City Challenge

The victory booked a upcoming fixture at home against Manchester City on Wednesday, opponents Galbraith came close against at the same stage of the FA Cup with Leyton Orient in February. Galbraith had a prime vantage point when the underdogs took the lead in remarkable manner, with the attacker's first-time shot from about 45 yards going in via the crossbar and the Stefan Ortega. It seems unfair that it was recorded as an own goal.

"You would have expected they would've credited him for attempting the shot from that distance," says Galbraith, who started in midfield before moving to right defensive wing after Orient changed shape. That meant facing off against Jack Grealish, with whom he swapped shirts, and the attacker was among the opposition who paid tribute to the way Orient attacked the game.

City's Quality

"Physically they are outstanding but even the fundamentals and routine actions, they can just execute repeatedly," Galbraith says. "It seems as if they never miss a pass and they are adept at control and take the sting out of a game. You can think you're holding your own and then abruptly they will just thread a ball past your midfield without you even seeing. You have to be alert every second of the game. It takes a tough attitude and focus just to stay in the game."

Welsh Transition

Swansea sought to acquire Galbraith in January and beat off competition to sign him in the summer in a £1.5m deal. He established himself as a fans' favourite across multiple campaigns at Leyton Orient and has quickly achieved similar status in south Wales. At the London club he linked up again with Richie Wellens, who four years ago gave Galbraith his debut prolonged spell in professional games on loan at his loan club from Old Trafford. Then came a spell at fourth-tier the Manchester club, before he moved on from Manchester United.

Growth Journey

"I was probably a somewhat inexperienced going into senior level. I think many athletes would say under-23s football is entirely separate. Sometimes it feels like possession is exchanged without real physicality. You see few hard challenges. Once you start playing men's games you have to learn quickly."

Country Call-ups

He has shown that maturation for his team and nation, shining for the Green and White Army, who could still reach the global tournament next summer via the knockout phase and for whom he has featured in the past five games, including both legs encounters against a football powerhouse. The ex-coach, Galbraith's previous international manager, paid him the supreme accolade, saying he was Northern Ireland's "creative maestro" given how he handles the football and his knack for a game-changing assist.

Early Days

This represents quite the ride for the player from the Queens Park estate in his hometown, just outside the capital, who was raised observing his parent, his father, also a midfielder, play for a local club.

Red Devils Debut

Galbraith's sole appearance for United came in the away trip in 2019, a continental tournament trip to the host city, where they played on an plastic turf and the stadium roof was shut owing to conditions of freezing cold. "This represented a lengthy journey and it was cold out there," he comments, smiling. "The days leading up, several youth players and I worked out jointly, so that helped us acclimatise. Just to accompany the senior squad and get a couple of minutes at the end was unbelievable."

Leaving United

How difficult was it to leave United, the club he joined from Linfield aged 16? "It was fairly simple, because I arrived at the moment where I knew I wasn't going to make it at first-team level. I'm extremely thankful for the years at the club but it reached a stage where I believed I had to take a different path, move to a lower level and play professional soccer. Now I'm slowly working my way back up."

Life in Swansea

It is the early part of the afternoon at the team's practice facility but Galbraith has an appointment at the early evening: a learner's exam, another progress toward getting on the road. Prior to relocating to his new neighborhood, the 24-year-old was a constant rider in Swansea's so-called team minibus, a team vehicle driven by team personnel, Pete and Howard, which transports players to and from sessions and fixtures.

"I travel with the Portuguese player, the Brazilian, the midfielder – the Swedish defender used to be in it but has started driving. It's pleasant to spend time with the guys but I'm planning to be the subsequent individual out of the minibus and on the road. The Portuguese player enjoys practical jokes; he's always up to all sorts."

Public Engagement

When he represented Orient, Galbraith would travel alongside fans on the Tube after beginning his trip at the area he lived in. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
