An additional two individuals have been arrested in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport where 21 people were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to law enforcement.
A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area on suspicion of theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.
The arrests come after a probe into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their luggage after getting out of a car park lift.
A three-year-old girl was one of the injured in the event. Five people went to hospital for medical care and were later discharged.
Officers detained a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault near the scene. He has since been released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.
Authorities were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several people hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be pepper spray.
The assault - an event that police said was a standalone incident and not considered terrorism - caused delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park for a short time.
